How does SwipeClock integrate with Shugo HUB?

SwipeClock® is an online time and attendance solution for businesses, both large and small. It defines practicality in today’s timekeeping industry, offering simple hardware setup, exceptional user-ease, and affordability to businesses of all sizes. Through SwipeClock’s web-based service, employers can automate the process of collecting and calculating time card data for payroll, and payroll providers can automate the process of collecting timekeeping data while increasing revenue generated from their payroll package.

SwipeClock® integrates with Shugo through our API. The WebClock and Employee Self Service Portal can be embedded in Shugo so punches can be made directly from Shugo HUB. Please note that this integration is not designed to send employee information out of SwipeClock and into Shugo. Also, this integration requires an existing integration between SwipeClock’s TimeWorksPlus and Execupay. Learn more about the SwipeClock/Execupay integration here.

How do I Enable the Shugo HUB Integration?

Implementing WebClock 3.0 into the Shugo HUB requires

  • an integration between Execupay and TimeWorksPlus
  • downloading the app from the Shugo LOFT
  • getting the following information from SwipeClock*:
    • The SwipeClock API key, which is found in the Accountant Menu as pictured.

    • Your SwipeClock Accountant ID which you will also see when you click on the Accountant Level Secret Management link. It can also be obtained from your SwipeClock Channel Development Manager.

*NOTE: The API key and Accountant ID are only needed for an initial setup of the app. Once you set this up for your first TimeWorksPlus client, you will not need it again to set up additional clients.

  1. Get the SwipeClock App for HUB The app is found in LOFT store under “SwipeClock”. Additional information on how to use LOFT apps can be found in Shugo’s Knowledge Base through the following link: https://ask.myshugo.com/kb/article/191-accessing-the-loft-store-and-enabling-loft-apps

  2. Add the API Key Once you have added the TWP WebClock App for the HUB, you will need to integrate it with your SwipeClock account on the HUB LOFT page. Select the TimeWorksPlus WebClock app and enter your Accountant ID and API Key in the App Settings. (see image below)

  3. Add Companies to the App The preceding steps to integrate WebClock with Shugo only need to be performed once, not per client. After it is done, enabling the app for one or more companies is through the following steps.
    1. On the HUB LOFT page, select the TimeWorksPlus WebClock app.
    2. Click the + to the right of companies.
    3. Search for your companies by their Execupay Company Cd. This should also be the same as the Client Tag in TimeWorksPlus. Do not use the SwipeClock Client ID.

Additional Notes

An employee must have WebClock Enabled in Employee Setup to access both the WebClock and Employee Self Service through Shugo. If they try to access either and they are not allowed to use the WebClock, the will be told they are not allowed to use WebClock.

 

Also, WebClock 3.0 should be enabled for the site in TimeWorksPlus. That is found through the click-path: Settings Menus > Client Configuration > Account Settings

What Data Syncs Between Shugo HUB and SwipeClock?

The Shugo integration does not sync data between SwipeClock and Shugo. It acts as a single sign-on for the employee to access SwipeClock’s WebClock and Employee Self Service portal through Shugo HUB. In order to use the WebClock, an employee must be set up in Execupay and synced to SwipeClock through that integration. Learn more about the SwipeClock/Execupay integration here.

How do I View an Employee in SwipeClock?

To view the employees within SwipeClock®, log into your SwipeClock® account directly and click on “Employee Setup” from the left-hand column. Then, click on the name of an employee to view their information in more detail. You can then fill out any additional details within the SwipeClock interface.
